Phocal

Phocal is an Adult Horror Work Sim / Interactive Fiction.

Tonight is your first shift doing content moderation for a hot new social media company, Phocal. Times have been tough, but this 5-night gig will surely get you enough money to make it home across the country... as long as you can keep your wits about.

Approve or reject images based on certain criteria while uncovering a horrifying new phenomenon happening around you. Check in on your lover, take directions from your employer, and try not to get distracted from doing your job. 

There are over 700 images to moderate (up to 300 shown per playthrough), and multiple possible endings for various difficulties. Each shift lasts about 5 minutes, making the total estimated playtime about 25 minutes per playthrough.

Phocal was a personal challenge to myself to see if I could create a game within a week. While the bulk of the game was coded within a week, the images, voice acting, formatting, etc. all took a few weeks longer. It pushes the limits of the Twine (Harlowe) engine, hardly resembling many other games made with it. Roughly 95% of all images are AI-assisted or AI-generated using custom models.
